DrRic (as his patients refer to him) since medical school has completed 3 medical specialties. Family Medicine, Primary Care Sports Medicine and Integrative Medicine. In addition, he trained at UCLA for Medical Acupuncture and is a certified Yoga Instructor with the Chopra Center with Deepak Chopra. His love is exercise indoors and out. Doctor holds 2 titles in body building, trained in martial arts, has completed marathons, triathalons, Spartan runs and rock climbs. In an attempt to inspire others to thrive, he created DrRic Hiking Excursions where he takes qualified patients to bucket-list hikes in our National Parks annually.
Watching how his father took time to educate, empower and heal patients, his way of implementing lifestyle changes for individuals always comes first in treating any patient. Medicines and surgical procedures can be used to facilitate change but optimizing the human cell to fix itself with nutrition, activity, restorative sleep and a spiritual practice should ALWAYS COME FIRST. He believes the answer to most ailments lie within the patient, the doctor just needs to extract it and that takes art, compassion, dedication and sacrifice. He definitely goes against the grain of standard medicine but not to oppose it, more to compliment it.

My father inspired me to become a doctor. I watched him build a following of patients that stayed in contact with him even after retirement. He delivered quality surgical care to all patients delivering life into the universe and in some cases allowing cancer patients to transition with dignity. That was true “old school” medicine where the doctor invested TIME during a visit to learn, educate and inspire his patients to suffer less and embrace a longer healthspan.

How is Integrative Medicine Different?
The specialty of Integrative Medicine is a post-graduate fellowship involving approximately 2 years of training. Integrative Medicine (IM) is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies. Many doctors already certified in a medical specialty will commit to further training to learn more healing techniques as a supplement to standard training. This will allow your provider to deploy more elements of lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, mindfulness in addition to prescriptions and surgical options when appropriate for the individual.
How do I pay for the “Test Drive” Consult OR the “Annual Membership”?
The Membership fee is out of pocket, paid by check, credit card or cash. Once you are a member/patient…the consults outlined above will be each billed to your medical insurance via G&G Billing in Elk Grove IL. The strength of an Integrative Medicine trained graduate is the ability to learn about the whole person and plan personal changes to optimize outcomes, accelerate reduction of inflammation/suffering and reduce the tendency to revert back to bad habits. All this learning, staging and implementing requires time between provider and patient far more detailed than a standard 15minute office visit. Memberships to our practice are not to provide profit / they are to allow compassion. Annual Members in Dr Saguil’s practice are given exclusive connection with an Integrative Medical specialist in practice since 1995. (Members are given his personal phone number)
Note: additionally to the membership recurring fee, all collaborations/consults will be billed to your medical insurance via G&G Billing. Patients are responsible for co-pay or deductibles as per their medical insurance policy.
If I am satisfied after the “Test Drive” how do I become a member?
What is included in an annual membership?
Why should I pay a membership fee?
A satisfied patient has 30 days to pay the balance for an annual membership. (Annual membership minus the “Test Drive” payment). Annual membership fees are automatically deducted until cancelled.

1. The initial 1.5 hour consult begins with mapping out patient desires, review of prior work up/testing, medical risk assessments, resource discovery, partnering expectations, avoidance of future pitfalls. (De-construct failure to Re-construct success)

5. Invitation to train and attempt the Annual DrRic HIking Excursion (National Park is designated every winter and training suggestions exclusive to members only)
The “Test Drive” consults were created for those new to Dr Saguil’s practice style. Most patients who haven’t experienced an Integrative Medicine consult will question why extra investment outside of your medical insurance will be necessary. With your first visit, you will learn why being under the care of DrRic is superior than a standard wellness visit. (or for that matter even a visit for acute care, blood test results or disease flare up!) The “Test Drive” consult is paid via cash check or credit card and will be subtracted from your first year of buying into the “Annual Membership one-time a year payment.
Every medical collaboration involves using nutrition manipulation, exercise advice, mindfulness development, weight loss and lifestyle improvement. Individual plans may vary but Dr Saguil may be listed as a practicing MD or may be considered out of network - you will be responsible for any balance unpaid by insurance.
After choosing an “Annual Membership” your will be invited to interface using the Gethealthie physician platform. This will be where you enter private data, old and new results, payments and communicate via a HIPPA compliant site. Moving forward with your care, whenever a consult is performed (phone, virtual or in-person) your insurance will be complimentary submitted by G&G Medical Billing. Other medical practices will require the patient to work with their insurance in submitting doctor visit payments which typically takes hours of manpower to get reimbursed. We do not want to add to medical stress and G&G Medical Billing is our trusted service.
